Folks, should we announce new channels we create on <#C0922A726|announcements>?

I like <#C0922A726|announcements> because of the excitement that gets generated when I see a new message there. 

I don't know how often new channels are created, but I doubt I'd want to be notified every time one is.

It’s not very often. In fact rarely are we creating new channels. But if we’re doing so, especially one as generic as <#C0474L1Q8DR|naming>, and folks don’t really know about it (apart from those directly involved), then it doesn’t provide as much value as it could IMHO. I think for more specific channels, it probably doesn’t make sense to mention on <#C0922A726|announcements>. But this particular one is quite generic.

In agreement here. Based on the very low frequency of channel creation, it doesn't hurt for them to be announced in the <#C0922A726|announcements> channel

Speaking about announcement, I think it'd be great to notify everyone (especially old members when there was a `#general` channel) about the existence of the channel using `@here` one day, and let people know that they can enable notifications in the channel settings to not miss important things happening in this community space.
