kotlin docs state "To make the update process smoother in the long term, we recommend changing your project structure to isolate AGP usage to a dedicated Android module." But when you download a new project from https://kmp.new it doesn't have a dedicated android module (but it does have a dedicated ios module?) should kmp.new template project be updated?
z
Yes, it should be - we are very actively working on updating the wizard and more for AGP 9.0. Stay tuned!

Is that guidance only meant for app modules (i.e. not library modules)?
z
In short: • AGP 9 won't allow applying the Android app plugin in the same module as KMP, so you'll need a separate app module (can be very slim, just the entry point and packaging related build config) • Library modules will need to migrate to the new KMP Library plugin https://developer.android.com/kotlin/multiplatform/plugin from the regular Android library plugin

OOOH. Looks like a refactor awaits me! I could have SWORN that kmp.new used to generate a separate android app module and i kinda liked it because ios was separate too. so android just made sense. but at some point it got collapsed under composeApp
e
Do we have a guide for migration from a single composeApp module?

We'll have a guide and updated samples later!
