Hi everyone! I’ve been building Github Store, a cross‑platform “app store” client for GitHub releases. It discovers repositories that ship real installable binaries (APK, MSI, DMG, DEB, etc.) and lets you install the latest release in one click, on both Android and desktop. The idea is to make it easier for devs and power users to: • discover apps that live on GitHub but are hard to find • avoid manually hunting through release pages and guessing the right asset • have a consistent install flow across platforms (Android + desktop) I’d love to get your thoughts: • Do you think an app‑store‑style client for GitHub releases is useful for the Kotlin/KMP/Compose ecosystem? • Would you see yourself using it to distribute your own tools, or to discover other people’s apps? • What would make it genuinely useful for you (better search, tags/topics, platform filters, ratings, etc.)? Any feedback, ideas, or “please don’t do X” comments are super welcome — this is still early and your input will shape where it goes next. 👉 https://github.com/rainxchzed/Github-Store

I think it’s a cool idea and I see a place for such a service. Some packages like MSI provide update capabilities, so showing/tracking the installed versions and offering updates or even do automatic updates seems to be the next logical step.
