I just saw: https://spring.io/blog/2025/05/20/reactor-kafka-discontinued I have apps that use reactor-kafka with Ktor, do you folks have any alternative for infinite-processing of events? Kotlin-kafka exists but haven’t used it in production, yet.

You can continue to use spring Kafka blocking library and convert messages to Mono and Flux. Since kafka’s Java client is intrinsically blocking at its core
o
Makes sense. Do you still think about rebalancing, consumer drop, error handling, or you let spring-kafka handle those things and focus on flux/flow creation?
p
Yes, you should deliberately let Spring Kafka handle rebalancing, consumer drop, retries, commits, etc., and you focus on building the Flux / processing flow.
