Is there any way to stop Intellij Idea from rebuilding automatically when anything is changed?

It usually doesn't rebuild just because you've changed something.  Some questions:
1. Which build system are you using for your project (gradle/maven/intellij)?
2. What are you changing?
3. What is triggering the rebuild? Just saving the file? Some other action?

I am using gradle and working on a kmp project. Lets say I changed something in iosMain target and I clicked somewhere outside ide it starts running embedAndSignAppleFrameworkForXcode task. changes in commonMain doesn't trigger rebuild

That's very useful context.  Unfortunately I don't know much about how KMP builds are managed.   Are you making changes to `@Composed` funs? It might be a setting in the plugins.   I would try asking in the <#CJLTWPH7S|>, including the details.

Not just @Composable funs. It happens if you change anything in that specific sourceSet

I would suspect something in the plugins used for Compose or KMP, but I don't know of the top of my head.
