Hey everyone I’m really proud to introduce Nucleus — a toolkit designed to simplify and professionalize shipping JVM desktop apps on macOS, Windows, and Linux. After 3 years working with Compose Desktop and spending far too many hours dealing with packaging, stores, and auto-updates, I decided to build a more integrated and coherent solution. I genuinely believe this is one of the most complete and advanced packaging solutions available today, across platforms. Nucleus brings together: • A Gradle plugin → 17 formats (DMG, PKG, MSI, NSIS, AppX, Snap, Flatpak…), macOS & Windows signing and notarization, store-ready sandboxed builds, AOT cache (JDK 25+), file associations • Runtime libraries → secure auto-update (SHA-512 verification), ability to render with Compose inside native windows, reactive dark mode detection via JNI, single instance enforcement, deep links • Reusable GitHub Actions → ready-to-use multi-platform CI/CD I’d really love your feedback 👉 Repo: https://github.com/kdroidFilter/Nucleus 👉 Docs: https://nucleus.kdroidfilter.com

This is huge and could replace Hydraulic Conveyor for me! 😮🔥 Thank you so much for sharing, I'll try it! 🙏🏻

Are the flatpaks flathub-ready with their offline build requirements?
That's usually the main hurdle publishing any gradle app to flathub
u
Yes, but I need to document it.

That's super cool, I'll give it a try 🔥

Curious how you've managed to solve offline dependencies for flathub. If you ever write an article about it please share.

Has anyone at least tried the demo app? I spent 3 hours drawing the Electron in Compose. 😑

I'd be happy to know if you also have pr like this, I'm starting to migrate my projects :)

I did. It's beautiful! 🙂

@אליהו הדס 👏 this looks really nice! You’ve already mentioned that cross-compilation isn’t supported since the plugin uses platform-specific tools for package creation. But are there any plans to support it in the future, like Conveyor does?
u
@suresh No, absolutely not. The price of ci today is completely negligible, I provide ready-to-use ci that require no additional configuration. and I think it would be completely impossible to generate the AOT cache in cross-platform use.
