I still want to test more scenarios out, but the <https://github.com/FletchMcKee/detekt/tree/agp-9-support|agp-9-support> branch of my detekt fork should work for AGP 9 whether `newDsl` or `builtInKotlin` is set to true or false. 

Let me know if you try it out and run into any issues.

nice. pretty sure detekt, protobuf, and probably newrelic are my last remaining 3rd party blockers.

actually kind of wild to see newrelic already has possible snapshots working before protobuf or detekt. they have been the absolute worst plugin from probably 2015 to current for actually dealing with AGP breaking changes.

Fortunately Detekt didn't require too much extra logic although I need to test some more scenarios. 

Some plugins require a lot of work though, the builtInKotlin/disallowKotlinSourceSets doubles the number of states you have to account for.

Detekt is the last blocker for us too before we can complete the transition to APG 9
