I just switched to Linux, and IntelliJ has a massive bar at the top of the screen that seems like it's only used to hold the Minimize, Maximize, and Close buttons.  Does anyone know how to disable that?

This could be specific to your window manager. What window manager/desktop environment are you using? For me, the close/minimize buttons are in line with the run button and stuff like that (same as other OSes). A screenshot would definitely help!

Seems similar to this. I am not too familar with Gnome so I am unsure if it has any way to hide those bars for certain windows. Seems like some KDE users have workarounds.
