this is with latest compose bom

also and finally, if i move the button callback up and bypass the modal bottom sheet, the navigation event triggers as expected and the test can continue

UPDATE: attaching the layout inspector seems to unfreeze the ui. the test also freezes in the same spot on different devices (physical and simulator, different os versions)
