Hey, everyone i have created a mutation testing lib which takes advantage of the great k2 compiler plugin infrastructure. It only compiles ones and runs in your test suite: https://github.com/anschnapp/mutflow You can try it within minutes. Feedback most welcome 😀

This looks very promising and using the compile for that is really creative! Time for feature requests 😜 1. KMP 2. TestBalloon-Support

Thanks! Yes great ideas. I never thought much about KMP support and Testballon is completely new to me. But if i get it correctly with test balloon it could work independently of the target platform? Then it should also work for KMP or has KMP some more requirements for a test framework?

i don't know how tightly mutflow needs to be coupled to a testing framework, or if it could work orthogonally to any test framework
a
The base is agnostic to any testing framework. Only the junit module does the coupling. It should be possible to have additional test framework extensions targeting other test frameworks. Definitely something i will take deeper look into.
Hey @Bernd Prünster, mutflow now supports KMP with native and jvm modules. See: https://github.com/anschnapp/mutflow/tree/master#kotlin-multiplatform-support Thanks again for the inspiration!

i have literally zero insights in how compliler plugins work, so without wanting to sound ungrateful: how tough would it be to get working on JS? I assume not too much work, because you are not hooking into the compiler back-ends?! Again: never dabbled into the kotlin compiler and I only have a high-level understanding of compilers

native already gets us quite far already. I wish I weren't as busy as I am, because I'd very much like to test the apple targets
a
Yes from the compiler side it should work. Just a bunch of more gradle plumping to do for it. I thought I'm already in a niche^3 position here this would then be niche^4 i guess. :) But i like the idea i think i will give it a try but not now, also quite some busy. But i will let you know in the case i built it.

I'd also be interested in long-term stability wrt kotlin releases. We're currently testing with EAP and nightly builds of Kotlin (and actually require it to be green)
