Hi, For my current KMP project I needed to prohibit all characters that belong to the 'control' group (including those above the ascii values). ChatGPT indicated that KMP uses UTF16 just like the JVM. Before I spend the time to capture and exclude these UTF16 codes, I wanted to get feedback from the KMP users and team if ChatGPT is wrong and there is no common Ascii plus options or there is and it is not UTF16? Thx in advance...

Char
is a single UTF-16 code unit and
String
is isomorphic to an immutable
Array<Char>
, matching Java and JS behavior

Thx, I guess I expected that at least some of the platforms would use UTF8...
e
Windows and macos native APIs are also in UTF-16. using UTF-8 would be inconsistent with the majority of platforms

Thanks for that info! I haven't done an app for either Windows or Macs for over 30 years... Having used GoLang, I just 'assumed' that some of these platforms must have moved on... 😞 Thanks again for the feed back!
