Is there a place where once can see the compatibility map between Kotlin/KGP - Xcode - iOS versions etc? For example I am running kotlin
2.3.10
, and building an XCFramework out of that. Importing it to an iOS project which is running in
Xcode 26.4
. • Trying to run it on an iOS simulator running
iOS 26.4
fails with
Copy code
Unable to Install "App"
Domain: IXUserPresentableErrorDomain
Code: 1
Failure Reason: Please try again later.
Recovery Suggestion: Failed to iterate on macho slices for input file: /Users/.../Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Devices/.../data/Library/Caches/com.apple.mobile.installd.staging/temp.../extracted/App.app/Frameworks/Shared.framework/Shared"
• Trying to deploy to an iOS simulator running
iOS 18.5
✅ just succeeds without any issues For reference, when I do not import the XCFramework at all my project builds for all the targets mentioned above so it's not an existing issue in the project. It's quite hard for me to be able to figure out what actually goes wrong here and if it's something that I can do something about or if it's an incompatibility issue.

Generally speaking, KMP compat info including Xcode versions is here: https://kotlinlang.org/docs/multiplatform/multiplatform-compatibility-guide.html
As far as I know Xcode >26.0 is not officially supported yet, but I'm on the latest and haven't had any issues with builds or deployments. I'll try to get someone to chime in on your specific situation who knows more.

That website is perfect, thanks! Yes, I see that .4 isn't supported now. And I know that for our iOS project I need to use .4 for reasons that I'd have to ask our iOS devs to understand better. I suppose I could also give Kotlin
2.3.20
a try even though it also doesn't necessarily promises support for .4 But yes, in general if someone could let me know if this "...iterate on Mach-O file..." is a known issue or if there is something I can do about it I would be very grateful!

Hi @Stylianos Gakis, we looked at this internally and still need to do a bit more investigations. I created this ticket to keep track of the progress. • KMT-2418 Xcode 26.4 compatibility issue

Thank you! If I can help in some way please do let me know! If it helps at all, This is the XCFramework I was testing out, from the releases here https://github.com/HedvigInsurance/umbrella Which is generated from one of the modules present in our app here https://github.com/HedvigInsurance/android/blob/feat/help-center-kmp/app/umbrella/build.gradle.kts specifically in the linked branch We are not using this in production yet since I am unable to make the dev experience good enough, if it makes the iOS app only buildable on some simulator versions. And I have not tested any other simulator versions than the ones specified earlier (iOS 18.5 and iOS 26.4)

Hey @Stylianos Gakis! Quick question, were you trying to run your project from Xcode or (IDEA|AS)+KMP plugin?
s
I was running it from Xcode directly. I don't think I've ever managed to run it through IDEA/AS. But maybe I haven't tried in a long time now.

> This is the XCFramework I was testing out, from the releases here https://github.com/HedvigInsurance/umbrella I just took the framework from the latest release, added it to an empty xcode project, pressed "run" with selected ios sim (26.4) - the build is green, simulator is launched(I had to accept an unsigned framework, if that matters). Can you please provide a reproducer for your problem ?
Hello there. Do you still experience this problem ?

Hey, it's been a very long time since I reported this, I apologize but I don't remember all the details but I know this isn't an issue anymore, so I suppose it's safe to assume it's all good now. It's not unlikely this was a misconfiguration of some sorts on our end in the first place, I really can't recall
