05/05/2026, 11:22 AMJust realized the Ktor CIO server engine doesn't support HTTPS. Is there still a plan to address this use case? Unfortunately without it, it is almost impossible to propose using Ktor over other Node/JS frameworks.

05/05/2026, 11:47 AMUnlikely we'll get to supporting HTTPS for common CIO for some time. It's quite a bit of effort and most deployments use the HTTPS services provided by the hosting, so it hasn't been high priority. I believe this might be the ticket to follow and vote on https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/KTOR-4085/Multiplatform-Client-Server-SSLTLS-configuration

05/05/2026, 10:16 PMI have never seen a nodejs framework do TLS termination in the real world. Usually you handle that much earlier in the stack.
