Hello! Is there any ability to depend on/reference
klib
or otherwise get C interop autocomplete when using Amper IntelliJ plugin? Thank y'all!
j
Hi! Thanks for the question. I'm not sure what the status of IDE support is for C-interop through Amper. @Fedor Ihnatkevich could you please help here?
Just so you know, we already implemented C-interop support in Amper itself (in the dev version, not in 0.10.0). Are you already using this?

That's understandable, and my hopes aren't too high, but the core support there is at the present got us most of the way there, so I'm just wondering! Yes I am using the latest github version, was like christmas day when I saw the relevant commit.

Ok cool, then I'll let Fedor answer about the exact state of IDE support.
So it's just not there in public versions of IDEA just yet, I guess
v
Darn! In the past I've made reports that were about Amper-IDEA feature-parity and been told "It's in a future version not public yet, sorry." I guess I am 1-2 weeks past the bleeding edge at any time lol. Thank you for your help!
j
Haha yeah, using dev versions with only a publicly released IDEA is a bit tricky, sorry. You are indeed on the bleeding edge!

so cinterop support is soon to be true ?

Sorry for running in late here. Yes, we did support
cinterop
in Amper yay. We did merge IDE support as well, @utikeev can help on the timeline when it will be available in public IDE versions.
cinterop
is also available in plugins API, see here. So technically one should be able to implement swiftpm support via a plugin. But the KMP support is bare-bones for plugins atm. And I must say that better swift dependencies integration is something that we are planning to make builtin. @François But if you are still enthusiastic about trying a plugin approach for Swift packages for the time being (once
cinterop
IDE support is there) - feel free to try and bring the feedback to me!
f
The main concern of spmforkmp is not only cinterop, it’s simplify the import of swift code. I don’t think you plan to do it?

Hi, folks! For the IDE support we are planning to release the new version of the plugin with the cinterop support among other improvements around the KotlinConf. We'll definitely let you know in this channel!

No announcement during the kotlinconfig ;) . I hoped to see it with my own eyes :)

It's in 2026.2 EAP 2! Very happy 🙂
