Hello all, hope everyone is well. I was wondering if anyone had any advice, i have a build running in gitlab and its failing trying to pull the dependencies from maven central with a 429 Too many requests error), I dont think my build would be producing enough requests to get rate limited, but i suspect all the requests from the gitlab system are causing the rate limiting….. I dont seem to be able to add a mirror as per https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/AMPER-3984/Need-a-way-to-set-mirror-or-change-URL-for-the-default-repositories, is there anything else i could do?

This is definitely on our radar, as we actually also hit these rate limits internally. Sorry about this. @alexey.barsov is there any way to add a repository before Maven Central? e.g. Google's?

there is no such way for now

> I dont think my build would be producing enough requests to get rate limited @jozefdransfield Yeah, I think Sonatype recently changed some configuration to make the rate limiting really aggressive for normal users also and it’s becoming impossible to do library updates for multiplatform projects (like Ktor dep targeting multiple targets), which usually pulls in a lot of dependencies and metadata files. It’s the same story in Github Action CI builds.

You should cache your dependencies in ci anyways

@Big Chungus Thanks. Sure, we do cache the deps and tools. The issue I am talking about is also happening when we upgrade dependency versions due to aggressive rate limiting recently introduced by Maven Central.

Ah fair enough
