Hey everyone, is there a quick way to regenerate xcode config ? I found that derived data end in a different folder than xcode so I can delete them when needed but I can't find how to resync the xcode project properly, I have to really clean everything to have it update. Some edits I do in Xcode for projects settings aren't taken into account in Android Studio/InteliJ

There should be gradle command in multiplatform app project:
gradle checkXcodeProjectConfiguration

I don't see this task, i'm not sure how my xcode project is "linked" to the gradle module except that xcode have a build script calling it (but nothing on the other way)
Ok the link is just the name 🙃
mine was named differently

Hi @Smoothie. I do not quite get what you mean by "regenerate xcode config". Also, what settings are not taken into account after changing them in Xcode? The Xcode project is not literally "linked" to Gradle. There might be a custom ShellScript build phase in the Xcode project, that runs
./gradles :some:gradle:module:embedAndSignAppleFrameworkForXcode
. The KMP plugin treats this script as a dependency to a Kotlin Gradle library. There's also a select box in IJ/AS settings at
Tools -> Kotlin Mutiplatform (KMP) -> Xcode -> Project Configuration
This affects currenly loaded Xcode project, build configurations and available targets to run. Also KMP plugin overrides Derived Data directory when building an ios app from Android Studio / IJ. This is not affected by any of Xcode settings, but may be disabled in AS/IJ by setting the registry value
cidr.xcode.derived.data.override
to
false
. Please note, that having a same DerivedData folder both both Xcode and AS/IJ might lead to errors related to build cache concurrent usage. If you need to clean the DerivedData manually, it's located in
~/Library/Caches/JetBrains/IntelliJIdea2026.2/DerivedData
for IJ.

@Philipp Smorygo [JB] thanks for the information, I see that now there is in Build a -> Clean Xcode Derived Data, I think that's what I needed the most because when I change the xcframework/framework in the xcode project it wouldn't actualise properly (show me new symbole etc...) because of previous build data
