Android Studio becomes slow after moving to KMP monorepo I recently moved our brownfield project to a new KMP monorepo structure with three root folders: Android app, iOS app, and shared KMP/CMP module. Our Android and iOS apps each have around 40 modules and 200K lines of native code, and the shared module has around 20K lines. The goal is to debug iOS + shared code from Android Studio. After opening the full monorepo in Android Studio, the IDE starts feeling very heavy. I can almost see it stuck on “Processing Symbols,” hear the laptop fan running harder, and feel the UI becoming slow and unresponsive. Soon after, Android Studio shows a low memory warning and eventually hangs. I already increased the minimum memory to 4GB, but it did not help. Earlier, when we opened only the Android project without the iOS code, Android Studio worked fine. Has anyone handled a large brownfield KMP monorepo like this? Any suggestions to keep Android Studio performant while still supporting iOS + shared-code debugging? Thanks a lot for reading. I really appreciate any help. PS: I am using 16 GB, M3 Mac

Short answer is you need minimum 32 GB, and that's being fair. Ideally >= 48 GB And this apply basically to any crossplatform framework

^ This is the answer. My M4 Max with 36GB sometimes struggles. I had the same issue you described with my M1 Pro 16GB and that’s what caused me to upgrade
