For the 15 years, we're thinking that we (the Bordeaux group) want to make it a festive thing open to anyone, not a usual talk night. We want to bring in non-devs, students, etc to let them discover what Kotlin is, without the usual 'inner-group' feeling that you get a small tech events. Our idea for that is to have a small Compose Desktop almost-game, where a few rules are missing, and have an evening where people can come with no knowledge of anything, customize the game a bit, and then leave with their own customized game on their laptop/mobile through Compose Multiplatform. However, we don't have the manpower to prepare all of this by ourselves, and neither of us do iOS development so we don't have the hardware to test that it would work there. Would other organizers be interested in a similar event in their city, and we can plan/create the materials for it all together? TL;DR "Kotlin for Everyone" night where non-devs can create a little thing in Kotlin and leave with it

I am all for it if the capacities allow it

I agree, it would be easier to put all our heads into it 😄 Not gonna lie, I've been trying to squeeze an idea recently for Kobudei's first meetup, I thank you Clovis for the input 🙏🏻 I have apple products, so we could try and collaborate to see what we can come up with. I'm not really keen on the idea of making a game, not that it's a bad idea, but I don't think we'll be able to get it done in due time, but at the same time, I don't think we have a given timeframe 😕

I don't think we have a given timeframe
Email from @Maria Krishtal said it should be between July 19th and September 30th. If you didn't receive it, maybe get in touch with her?
I'm not really keen on the idea of making a game
My criteria were Kotlin's tagline: Concise, Multiplatform, Fun • Concise: it should be a small project. Each person should take 30–45 minutes to do their task, and then we all move to eating. • Multiplatform: use Compose so everyone can leave with their own app. • Fun: game! I'm thinking a small turn-by-turn local card game with a standard deck: • App opens • Choose how many players, give them each a name • Game starts, the first player takes the device • The first player makes a move • The second player takes the device, makes a move • etc

I received the e-mail, but I forgot about that, thanks! Also your criteria is spot on K I think it's doable like that. If we can't find a card game, maybe we could try building Hangman?
c
Possible
I think a card game is a more interesting because each person could implement slightly different rules

Yeah, fair point.

Nice idea

The prototype is progressing very nicely, I will make a call for contributions in the next days

At the very least, you will need to help with i18n for your own language
