Thanks ! Are you still playing today ?

I used to mod for > 10 years, made some mods for SkyFactory and the like back in the day. From time to time i still play 😄 But mostly older versions, pre-version-scheme-switch. Now i'm mostly spending time building my own Tekkit/FTB inspired voxel game in KMP hahahaha.
a
I see, that looks fun, I love to play Skyblock modpacks too, I played Project Ozone 3 a lot a few years ago and Ozone Skyblock Reborn 2 more recently. I'm playing Minecraft for about 14 years now but I still prefer the more recent versions

PO3 is fun, but grindy in expert mode 😄 I didn't really play any new versions since i started working on my own stuff, i got kind of sick of the whole 2348567 different modloaders deal at some point.
a
Yeah export mode is hard and loooong, but it's fun and I prefer modpacks where you need to use all of the mods, instead of just speedrunning the one you know/are overpowered
a
Yesss, well integrated content between different mods is the sauce. That includes quests/tasks for these kind packs, i'm with you on that.

Currently it's pretty much still just Forge vs Fabric, exactly NeoForge instead of Forge but that's it, the other modloaders have very little usage
a
That is true, but it gets to you with people constantly demanding you add support for modloader XY or feature Z, when you clearly stated you won't do that. It's a little frustrating, that's all. Ofc it's similar in other communities/cases.
a
And datapacks are still this weird other thing where you can customise many things and even code many things with much more freedom than before, but there's still that "experimental complex vibe" where some operations like string manipulation are very hard and in the other hand raycasts are pretty easy It evolves on each version, with less limitations, more customisation, but still hard to understand and thousand of small tools but not a lot of people actually creating things That's why I'm trying to create the most complete tool possible with more and more automatic generation, Resource pack generation is planned too, and even Multiplatform (but harder due to serialization process manipulating a lot of reflection, because Minecraft schemas are WEIRD as hell, union types would simplify my code SO MUCH)

Yeah true, but it's great to see they're pursuing that direction more with every update, make in-game content creation more accessible ^^
And this project is a good example on how this could look 😄
a
I understand that, imo you should just ignore that because the bigger public will stay on Fabric/Forge except if a very big event happens like Forge main owner drama
a
Ofc, and i did ignore it for a couple years. But in the end, it was more a pure mental thing for me. So i took a break from MC modding, and during the break i started my game xD you see the "issue" there hahaha.
a
Thanks ! Yeah that's cool, imo not the best way to bring vanilla customisation to Minecraft, Bedrock version has a js-like language with complete APIs that let you pretty much do anything you want, if they implement that it would be awesome, pretty much a Kore-killer but that's life x) And I could create other tools around that on a fresh environment
Ah I understand x)
