Hi everyone! 👋
I recently built a small open-source CLI called
Library Insight.
It analyzes compiled Java/Kotlin libraries (JARs, AARs, or Maven dependencies) without requiring source code.
Some things it can do:
• Search classes, methods, and properties
• Explain APIs from the actual library version
• Compare library versions
• Export AI-friendly context for coding assistants
I mainly built it because I found AI assistants sometimes generate code using APIs from different library versions. This tool helps inspect the exact dependency that's actually in your project.
I'm not sure how useful this will be for others, so I'd really appreciate any feedback, suggestions, or feature ideas.
