My coding agent can use the IntelliJ MCP server to start a run configuration, but it seems unable to stop a configuration. It always tries to kill the process using the PID file.
Together with the Hot Reload MCP server, I’m trying to instruct my coding agent to check UI changes on its own. However, to get a clean unit test run, it needs to stop the app first and then run
gradle clean
I wish for some enhancements to the MCP server. 😄

I wonder why you would need to run a ./gradlew clean to run a unitTest? This would only be necessary, if you have some untracked dependencies within your build?

I want to be extra sure that there is no transient/cached state that influences results.

You know, it's one of the two hard problems in computer science. 😉
