Hey folks 👋 Kotlin DataFrame 1.0.0-rc01 is out. This is our first release candidate and the final step before 1.0. The 1.0 API is now locked, so the focus shifts from API design to real-world validation, migration feedback, bug fixing, and final polish. This is the version to start testing in existing projects before the final release. What’s new: ⚙️ Compiler Plugin and Kotlin 2.4 The Compiler Plugin now supports more Kotlin DataFrame workflows in Gradle and Maven projects. Typed column access, completion, refactoring, and compile-time checks now work across more DataFrame transformations. Kotlin 2.4 also brings incremental compilation back. ✨ New APIs and usability improvements •
requireColumn()
for safer work with dynamically loaded data •
renderToMarkdown()
for Markdown output •
GroupBy.countDistinct()
for distinct counts inside groups •
rename { ... }.to()
for clearer rename syntax • improved
DataFrame.print()
output RC1 also improves SQL validation, JSON and IO configuration, DuckDB type support, examples, and documentation. All example projects now use the Compiler Plugin. How to try it Gradle or Maven:

If you have examples of useful, incorrect, or outdated AI-generated Kotlin DataFrame code, please share them here or contact us directly. Please try RC1 in a real project and let us know about migration issues, missing Compiler Plugin coverage, or unclear documentation.
