Yeah this is a critical regression in 0.12.0 that I fixed a few days back. We'll release a 0.12.1 patch with it, maybe in the coming week (or at the very least it will be in the 0.13.0 release at the end of September). Sorry about this!

Interesting! Indeed you can use the API bridge for the Maven-like publication mode.

If you want to get the "clean" approach sooner, you can also bump to the dev version by doing kotlin update --dev , it already has the fix and is not far from 0.12.0
