I ran into an unexpected "MissingResourceException" when my app uses a transitive dependency that in turn uses their own compose resources.

I'm sharing my investigation and reproduction path in here (in the thread), for future reference.

The tl;dr is:

The personal access token I used to obtain the transtive dependency had expired, but due to an earlier run of some compile task (most likely unit tests), the necessary klibs were already cached. When i finally tried to build the app, the token had expired and it couldnt download the assets. But because the gradle task responsible for downloading assets appears to be lenient, and therefore ignores errors and assumes there are no resources available, the build succeeded without the necessary assets. After noticing my access token had expired and updating it, the app worked again after a rebuild. I didnt need any code changes after all.
