Hey all - Store 6’s first artifacts are on Maven Central’s snapshot repo as of earlier this morning. Planning to release 6.0.0-alpha01 in the next week or two.

Short overview - Mike and I have talked a lot about a Store as a building block over the past few years. Store 6 has a small read core that is that building block. Everything else is an extension. Splitting these means the core can freeze at beta01 and stay frozen while extensions can evolve independently. You will be able to depend on only what you use. Extensions supported out of the box, available to preview today include:

• Conflict resolution
• SQLDelight adapter
• Room adapter
• File persistence
• Ktor
• GraphQL
• Realtime
• Paging
• Compose
• Telemetry

You will need Kotlin 2.3. The packages are under org.mobilenativefoundation.store6 so Store 6 can run beside Store 5 (or 4) and you can migrate incrementally. These docs will eventually live under MNF, but start here for now - store.mattramotar.dev/docs/store6/quickstart. Note that the docs have the alpha01 coordinates - you will need to use 6.0.0-SNAPSHOT until the alpha goes out.

Wanted to share the preview with this group first. Any feedback is appreciated, but something small that I think would be particularly helpful: pick one repository, wire a Store, and tell me how it felt. What was awkward. What was confusing. What you had to look up multiple times. What you couldn't find in the docs. What Store 4 or Store 5 let you do that you missed. What you wanted to configure but couldn’t. Names that confused you. The API won't be frozen until beta01 so this feedback will impact the final shape. Please feel free to DM me, reply/post here, or open an issue on the repo!
