Anyone else having issues syncing projects in IntelliJ 2026.2.2 when the Kotlin Multiplatform plugin in enabled? No obvious error being reported in IDE....just shows that it's failed.

Ah, I see that in Toolbox now....wasn't appearing before for some reason. I'll try that, thanks
Updated to that and it shows update now for KMP plugin (and Jetpack Compose one which it also depends on). After updating tthose but still seeing issues. It seems to succeed but then get error at end.
Junie suggested a few things but none of them worked
(I'm seeing this btw on other more basic KMP projects as well)
a bit more from Junie "During sync, the bundled Kotlin Multiplatform / KMM plugin asks Gradle's Tooling API for an XcodeCocoaPodsModel for each project. The plugin's model builder either isn't being injected into the Gradle daemon (Gradle 9.7.1 is very new and the plugin's tooling runtime may not be compatible with it) or is failing to register, so Gradle throws UnknownModelException. IntelliJ wraps this in ExternalSystemPartialResolutionException without a message, which is why the Build window only shows "Unknown cause". Note this project doesn't even use CocoaPods (shared/build.gradle.kts uses a plain iOS framework), so the model request is unnecessary — the resolver just runs unconditionally."
Went back to Gradle 9.6.1 (from 9.7.1) and syncing successfully now

you need to disable resilent sync in IDEA registry:
gradle.use.resilient.model.fetch
kind of main issue: IDEA-392538 Long import times in kotlin.git with Gradle 9.7.0
it should be fixed in one of upcoming 2026.2.x releases
