Hi everyone! 👋 I’d like to share Funfolio, an open-source project I’ve been building with Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform. Funfolio is a collection of small offline games for Android and iOS. It originally started as a single block puzzle game, but I recently reworked it into a small game hub that currently includes Block Blast, 2048, Fruit Merge and Tetris. Architecturally, every game is an independent MiniApp module, while the host app provides the catalog and shared application layer. Decompose handles navigation and component lifecycles, and the UI is fully built with Compose Multiplatform. One of the goals is to make adding new games relatively self-contained, so contributors can propose completely new games as separate modules. I’ve also been experimenting with making the repository friendly to AI-assisted development. AI coding tools are welcome, but contributions still need to follow the project architecture and go through normal review before being included. I’d especially love feedback from people working with KMP, Compose Multiplatform, or Decompose — particularly around the MiniApp architecture, module boundaries, and contributor experience. For Tetris I hope EA or the Tetris Company doesn't come after you. 👀 My open source Tetris clone got removed 13 years ago from the Play Store, because apparently the Tetris Company claims to have the exclusive rights to it. 🥲 This is where I got my first DMCA strike. I wasn't expecting Tetris to be protected. Just be careful. You might lose your developer account. I guess you need to get an official license from https://tetris.com/ even for a free game. It wasn't worth the trouble for me.

@Stefan Oltmann Thanks for the heads-up—I had no idea there could be licensing or DMCA risks associated with Tetris. I’ll definitely look into this before releasing anything under that name or anything that’s too similar to the original. It’s certainly not worth risking my developer account for the sake of a single game 😅 The app itself doesn't use the name "Tetris"—it just has a somewhat similar game icon and the core game mechanics.

Yes, I didn't use the name. It was called “falling blocks”. The license is obviously for the core game mechanics. I find it debatable if something like that can really be protected, but I can't afford lawyers dealing with the Tetris company. In that sense you already violate the same way as I did. Maybe they didn't find you yet or they are less aggressive as 13 years ago. Can't tell you.
