In the Github sample for Firebase SPM Import (github.com/Kotlin/kmp-with-cocoapods-firebase-sample/blob/…/build.gradle.kts): I found that: 1. The importedClangModules are specified 2. FirebaseCore is also specified Is there a reason for this? 1. does the Firebase package needs importedClangModules to be specified? 2. aren't the other modules (e.g. Crashlytics and Firestore) already implicitely importing FirebaseCore?
Copy code
swiftPMDependencies {
        iosMinimumDeploymentTarget = "16.6"

        swiftPackage(
            url = url("<https://github.com/firebase/firebase-ios-sdk.git>"),
            version = from(firebaseVersion),
            products = listOf(
		...
                product("FirebaseCore"),
                product("FirebaseCrashlytics"),
                product("FirebaseFirestore"),
		...
            ),
            importedClangModules = listOf(
		...
                "FirebaseCore",
                "FirebaseCrashlytics",
                "FirebaseFirestoreInternal",
		...
            ),
        )
    }

Hey. The
importedClangModules
mechanism generally shouldn't be used, and it was used in the sample by accident cc:@Andrey Yastrebov

I will check if it could be removed and update the sample
The sample was updated, thanks for reporting. Answering the questions:
does the Firebase package needs importedClangModules to be specified?
No, it's not required
aren't the other modules (e.g. Crashlytics and Firestore) already implicitely importing FirebaseCore?
Correct, we don't need to explicitly specify FirebaseCore
thank you color 1

One other thing, in the sample, iosMinimumDeploymentTarget is specified as 16.6 Is there a specific reason for this? I have seen that the minimum version for Firebase at the moment is 15.0 Can iosMinimumDeploymentTarget also be omitted or it is suggested to always specify it?

You don't have to specify it if you don't see any build failures related to the minimum iOS deployment version. Currently, by default, iOS 15 is used.
