hi! i am created fresh cmp project in intellij but cant run it because of this. cant find any information even what is going on there
j
Hi Vitaly, sorry to hear that! Could you please share what you see on the right side of the build window (to the right of the screenshot)? If nothing, maybe click on the root node in the tree from your screenshot ("Kotlin Project Import"). There will likely be something on the right then. Maybe you could also share the logs dir (at
build/logs/amper_2026-09-29_...
) for this command, if that's ok with you. That would help a lot! 🙏🏼
d
screen with right side
what about logs, i cant see any log files in my project :(
j
Thanks Vitaly! The new screenshot you shared was only the beginning of the run (it's still running). It is not in the state where you reached the error like in your first screenshot. Could you please share what you see at the end of that build?
Regarding logs, do you have a
build
directory in your project? (it should be automatically created by the Kotlin Toolchain when it runs). Logs should be under
<projectRoot>/build/logs/...
d
oh, excuse me 🙂 in the end the the same message as in left side
j
Ok, and when you click on the root node of the tree on the left, the one named "Kotlin Project Import", what do you see on the right?
d
oh wait

j
Thanks, now that is useful!
d
nothing else, root is empty
full line ERROR: Checksum mismatch for C:\Users\devit\AppData\Local\JetBrains\Kotlin\cli\bpe40b31.1hj (downloaded from packages.jetbrains.team/maven/…/kotlin-cli-0.12.2-dist.tgz): expected checksum 9fec42de4f378a27240b78c1b66ffef0c2aca66a4a6390ca67fe51aacb75677e but got 834577D037964B1C368C5EE05D71E9E742ACAC469C77E2703122DA9FBB371DAD
j
Ah thank you, I was about to ask that 🙏🏼
The expected checksum is correct. I think the actual checksum is wrong because the download stopped abruptly
I wonder why the server cut you off, though
d
i tried with and without vpn. same result
anyway, thanks for answer and help!
j
Do you have reason to believe the connection is unstable somehow? Or maybe you have a proxy/firewall in the middle that could decide to cut off the download?
d
every downloading in idea without issues, only this one
j
A workaround would be to manually do the download and extraction, put it in the right place in your local app data, and manually create the
.flag
file with the checksum to say "all good". But that's a bit of a hassle. It'd be nice to understand why you're facing this, but I don't want to put it on you to investigate this 😅
One thing you could try (only if you want to continue with this of course) is to run the download command manually and see if it still fails:
curl.exe -L --silent --show-error --fail --output kotlin-cli-0.12.2-dist.tgz <https://packages.jetbrains.team/maven/p/amper/amper/org/jetbrains/kotlin/kotlin-cli/0.12.2/kotlin-cli-0.12.2-dist.tgz>
d
tried it from intellij terminal, same message: curl: (56) schannel: server closed abruptly (missing close_notify)
j
Thank you for trying! Something is fishy here, and I don't know at which level. The server team told me that it might be an issue with the redirection to CloudFront. So I would be super grateful if you could share the
--verbose
output of this command:
curl.exe -L --verbose --stderr curl-output.txt --show-error --fail --output dist.tgz <https://packages.jetbrains.team/maven/p/amper/amper/org/jetbrains/kotlin/kotlin-cli/0.12.2/kotlin-cli-0.12.2-dist.tgz>
Then share
curl-output.txt
(make sure there is no personal data there)
d
message has been deleted

Thanks a ton Vitaly, I'll forward this to the server team and report back. You've been such a great help, sorry you had to go through this!
I have to say, the connection seems to be dropped after exactly 500 seconds. Something might be timing out.

@demich during the import we spawn the process which calls bat wrappers, which don't respect the proxy settings set in the intellij idea discussed in private he redirected
curl
traffic through the proxy and our distribution had been downloaded successfuly but it's anyway worth it to set the proxy environment variables during the import when we invoke the kotlin wrapper, I'll create a YouTrack ticker for that
