Hey everyone! I just published a new pre-release version of MaterialKolor! If you’re not familiar, its a port of Google’s “material-color-utilities” that generates a color palette from a single seed color. This new release brings big (and breaking) changes. Before I was maintaining a hand written port of the Java source code. They did eventually add a Kotlin source, but it wasn’t KMP friendly, so I still used my hand written port. That changes with 6.0.0! Instead there is a now a transformer that takes the Kotlin source and KMP-ifies it, that means we have complete 1:1 parity with the upstream material-color-utilities instead of my fragile hand written one. I also split the Material3 support from the core features that way MaterialKolor can be used with other theming systems, out of the box we support Compose Unstyled, and Compose Fluent. This is all on the
next
branch of the repo. It includes samples for each of the theming systems, as well as how to build your own custom theme system. I’ve also completely redesigned the MaterialKolor Builder! 6.0.0 is currently in a pre-release state because I was hoping to get some real-world testing out of it. So if you happen to use the library please try it out, and let me know what you think. github.com/jordond/materialKolor/tree/next github.com/jordond/MaterialKolor/discussions/591
