Fun fact: If you are making an app on the Play Store, Google used to get 30% of profits, now they announced a cut to 15% if you are earning under one million dollars. This was after Apple announced that they are also cutting profits. https://www.theverge.com/2021/3/16/22333777/google-play-store-fee-reduction-developers-1-million-dollars

I have no skin in this game, but also: amazing
t
@nanodeath same with me 😆 Yeah it's good that Google is reducing it to 15% (for under 1 mil), I think it's fair play. 30% was a bit much, but I guess they offer you the toolset to create apps.
n
they and Apple are literally just charging as much as they can possibly get away with really
t
@nanodeath Yeah... It's Google, Google is not your friend. At the end of the day all they want to do is make 💰💰💰.
n
I can't really blame them kinda, but I'm still going to
t
@nanodeath yes, there's nothing bad about it. But Google is just too big if you ask me, needs to be separated... As well as other companies.
@nanodeath Another fun fact: App Store grossed $64 Billion; Play Store grossed $38.6 Billion. Both of them made a lot of money in the year 2020 because of the lockdowns... No wonder they are pushing us to 'stay safe' and to 'stay at home' 🙄
n
ha, well...many big companies definitely benefited from quarantine 😕
t
@nanodeath yes they did, while we were stuck inside. 🙂
