Anyone else tried the new Jetbrains Mono? I was using Inconsolata before, but this one is also pretty nice.
r
I switched from Inconsolata to Mono (with ligatures on) recently. I like it.
s
I’m using JetBrains Mono on my work machine and SF Mono on my personal one, having a hard time deciding which I like better
is good typeface
a
I have tried it and found it quite comfortable for my eyes and now i am using it in IDE, terminal and browser as wll
o
@Ashish Kumar Joy browser? Do you mean its devtools?
s
i mean, you can set your default page render typeface preferences in your browser…
o
I'm aware of that, just it is unusual to do so, from what I've seen, especially with a mono font.
s
why?
you can set defaults by category - serif, sans-serif, monospaced etc
o
Meant more uncommon, don't remember ever seeing someone's browser that wasn't using the default font
r
Hasklig is another nice monospace you can try.
Most web pages set their own fonts anyway. The browser settings only apply when the font is not set, so its almost irrelevant on the modern web.
o
Yes indeed, I can't recall seeing google search results in a different font
s
really depends - wikipedia is a pretty good example of not prescribing typefaces in its stylesheets
I’ve also definitely been on a number of blogs that set style information but not font for code blocks
