At the very least, since i have it set to auto-update, it lets me know "hey, intellij got an update! i wonder what it is"

I think if you use toolbox to update it isn't a problem for either the start menu or the taskbar, so maybe you can look into that?

Well you download a new .exe when updating, so that's going to be difficult simple smile

1. Toolbox Settings - Generate Shell script - it will create batch files into specified folder.
2. Create Shortcut to the cmd file
3. Put it into C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
4. Open Start Menu, find it there and pin

I know it’s not the best experience, but at least a workaround. I’ve passed feedback to toolbox devs.
