Tons of student interest in Kotlin! My course at SUNY Poly next semester filled immediately and my email has been flooded with requests from students asking to be let in. I’ve requested a larger lecture hall to accommodate!

If you can get all these kids starting out with something other than dynamically typed languages, that would be great...

The main CS courses at SUNY Poly are offered in C++ or Java. There’s sometimes a JavaScript class offered as an elective. Not much python if any

At Clarkson, where I’m a student part time, Python is the main language it seems

Yeah, anecdotally I have seen a lot of college kids coming to my workplace with exposure to only Python, especially here in Texas. I've also noticed there is rarely any programming skills... just knowledge on how to use libraries. That still requires knowledge especially on the data science front, but I find it limits ones ability to execute specific problem solves.
