What´s that radical about Kotlin?
s
Ask some "enterprise Java developers" 🙂
j
I'm one of those enterprise java developers in a big company and I have no idea why you say it is radical
s
Ah, but if you're already here and learning/using/interested in Kotlin, you're not going to consider it "radical" pretty much by definition...
...type inference, immutable data, flow type analysis -- those sorts of things are considered pretty radical by many Java devs I've run into at conferences over the years.
Heck, I was at a Java conference where it became clear from hallway and lunch conversations that there were a lot of Java devs that considered Continuous Integration pretty radical (let alone Continuous Deployment).

Then I have got bad news for those developers. In my opinion, the biggest thing from Kotlin is on how simple and alike to java is at the same time
But I don't think that should be considered the "standard", I don't know any of those developers. Actually I wouldn't like to know any
s
It made me shudder -- and told me I wouldn't want to work in any of the companies those folks were working! I agree!

Gives me the hibbie jibbies : “enterprise developers” is synonymous for archaic folks in my mind.
