<@U0BHS1Y07> You did it! :kotlin:

@voddan You did it! K
v
pavel.talanov: we did it, we 😄
o
Next is Ruby, not too far ahead
v
A more challenging task is to predict where K will be in the TIOBE index
o
I doubt it will even enter top 50.
+"<language> programming"
is the metric, and not much materials are really created despite all the hype.
Well, it can, if it was somewhere near #50 anyway…
v
@orangy have you tried putting the query into different search engines?
o
Does it really matter on this scale? I didn’t. But we got like 500 pages last week according to Google, out of 443,000 results, so I doubt a big change in rating here.
v
If I understand how TIOBE is calculated, Kotlin has rocketed on Googles to the Swift levels
o
In few weeks we will know 🙂
You seem to be right, I somehow missed a simple comparison to existing languages. If this metric is more or less correct, Kotlin is somewhere between JS and PHP now.
v
And it keeps going up.... one can imagine the June TIOBE to be Java, Kotlin, C, etc
The only reason I doubt that outcome is YouTube - there haven't been time to create a ton of Kotlin videos yet
o
Checked other search engines mentioned on TIOBE, it’s not that big there. So I’d not be that optimistic.
v
Google search promotes info from IO? 😱
o
May be it just indexes faster? 😉
