Hi all, is there a discord group for kotlinlang or is this the definitive hang out place for kotlin folks?

this is the place. there used to be a discord, but it never saw much traffic and ultimatively got shut down in favor of this place

The lack of threads in Discord would make a forum with as much traffic as this a bit of a nightmare.

To be fair the lack of proper threads in Slack make this place a nightmare, too

idk, seems very subjective/cultural. I'm in 3 language Slacks, and this is the only one that's even close to so insistent on using threads for everything

And, ironically, it gets easily the least traffic

I definitely prefer less usage of threads, makes convos more open and inviting, and encourages people to join in. This slack ends up with a very very "strictly business" vibe comparatively.

Same, especially since threads do not stay active and disappear in the scrollback. Interesting conversations are entirely lost and invisible. Mini information silos in this gigantic already information silo.
