if the postponed feature “Advanced tooling that users have in Java but is missing in Kotlin.” means that kotlin refactorings will continue to work much worse than java refactorings, thats really disappointing.

I'm really happy to see a focus on several areas that will add up to a greatly improved experience for Kotlin Multiplatform for Mobile (KMM) Devs. Breaking down tooling barriers between platforms served by the Kotlin ecosystem is what's going to be it's 'killer App', and make it so compelling. I've just completed a commercial KMM project; the iOS memory model was a pain-point and that is being happily addressed. As well; there are future opportunities for parts of our mobile client code to go onto the web. If the Kotlin/JS or WASM technologies become mature enough; we could well adopt these too.
