When I try to update my kotlin plugin in intellij ...

When I try to update my kotlin plugin in intellij it tries to download 1.3.72 not 1.5.0, even though it was correct in the overview.

Any idea what I can do? I use Intellij 2021.1.1

someone menttioned this earlier. they deleted a zip file and it worked I seem to remember.

probably an old download is confusing the updater

I cannot find the plugins folder mentioned here.

so any other suggestions?

I am using mac, maybe this is the reason? Otherwise will have to file an issue (not a fan of youtrack if I am honest 😅, so would like to avoid that )

so something like ~/Library/Application Support/JetBrains/IntelliJIdea2021.1/plugins

yes, I had a look in this folder, and there is no plugins folder in there

ok, after 5 times restarting I could download it 🤯

Might make sense to report the issue in IDEA, don't you think?

if you tell me an easy way to do that in youtrack I would do that… I had a look, unfortunately there are no github issues enabled for kotlin

See in the Help menu of the IDE, there's an item made just for that, and also one to collect the diagnostic data to attach.

@huehnerlady Would be great that you attach the info on the YouTrack issue itself. Most IntelliJ developers are not on this Slack AFAIK. Also, when fixing an issue, contextual info is very valuable.

I do not have more information. I am happy to delete it again, if it is not helping after all, but as it didn’t work and after a few restarts it did I do not know what else to tell them… I did not get any logs in that time so I do not have any further data

@huehnerlady I am talking about the screenshots on initially showed here on Slack, they could be helpful in the issue attachements (which you can edit, no need to delete it).

I see. yes I thought about that. but as I had limited time at that point I just quickly used the link. And someone else already commented with screen shots, so I think it is fine now 🙂

Attaching it the original report is one click, drag n drop, one click FYI, most likely quicker than justifying here why you didn't do it 😄
