Hi all, wondering whether you all tend to include or exclude tax when you decide on pricing your apps in the app store? Is there a community consensus on the etiquette here?

Pretty sure its illegal not to write total price including tax most places when selling to consumers

Try googling this “google play store taxes”…. tons of information. It is complex, depending on where you are and selling from and to.

So in the Google Play store, you set price and then choose whether it includes or excludes tax - guessing Google works out the total price if you choose to exclude it. Just wondering whether devs tend to say “5.99” all in, or “5.99" plus taxes, if that makes sense?

as a customer, I want to see the total price - tax included

In the US it is a bit different, though. Customers are used to see the prices before taxes and will see the total, including taxes at checkout.

Yeah I kinda feel like I’d just follow what I’m forced to do in the iOS app store and just do an “all in” price
