https://twitter.com/kotlin/status/1297856278979661825 It is #KMMnews time! We are approaching the final stages of the new Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile release. It will have many cool features for making it fun to build apps with a shared codebase! We are also about to launch a dev portal to support this release. Stay Kotlin! https://t.co/JISrGtvOBm Twitter

What does this mean? Is there a separate library/framework release that I don't know about?

Or is it just a way to brand new features in Kotlin 1.4?
o
That's what I also wonder, first time I'm hearing about this😅

Where the hell does that come from? It’s really phrased like it’s the 1.0 of something that has always been here, wtf 🤷‍♂️

Kotlin multiplatform is still experimental, so maybe it's being promoted.
Maybe it's the new Android Studio plugin they've been hinting at.
l
Note that it's focused on the mobile side of Kotlin Multiplatform, so iOS, so maybe it's Jetpack Compose on iOS in partenership with JetBrains, and the Android Studio plugin for iOS app running and debugging announced at last KotlinConf? And maybe also quality improvements?

That would be great news. Certainly possible since Jetpack Compose is very near Alpha release with the "leaked" video today. We will see soon I guess.
d
Oh, leaked video? Link pls?
Video has been taken down. But I guess will be released soon.

Something related to Compose indeed, remember that the Compose team has an AMA on August 27th (https://www.reddit.com/r/androiddev/comments/idefss/were_on_the_engineering_team_for_android_jetpack/), something tells me they are going to hold the AMA just after they make the "big" announcement
