learning a new language is always a challenge, but it's worth it eventually, and you've got a community here and on StackOverflow to help out when you need it

you can always take a break to learn Haskell, C++, or Lisp
and then coming back to Kotlin will feel fun and easy 🙂

ha, or Rust...
IntelliJ's Java-to-Kotlin converter though is a gamechanger. it won't give you idiomatic Kotlin, or replace Streams with Sequences, but it's a great starting point for something that "works" in Kotlin after which you can tweak and improve it. also good for converting little code snippets if you're unclear on the syntax.
