OK cool. Thanks. I come from many years back on IRC, where cross-posting was fine so long as it was on-topic everywhere it was posted, and if you got your Q answered in one place, you shared elsewhere for anyone lurking who might also want to know the answer.

Given that I thought Slack was a spiritual successor to IRC (and the Kotlin slack rules indicated I ask on topic questions but I didn’t see anything about cross-posting—maybe I overlooked it?—it seemed like a safe bet to assume IRC customs had carried over to Slack.

No, it’s not there. There is an admonition to “[f]ind the right channel”, but it’s about being on topic, not about finding the _*one and only*_ right channel.

In any case, I’ll keep this in mind in the future. Thanks.
