What are people’s preferred Java community Slack groups? I’d like to join one alongside this one.

Dunno about slack, but there are some channels on freenode, stopped going there long time ago, but I think they're still active. Otherwise Java is so ubiquitous and widespread, normally there is no need for live discussions. Google + StackOverflow + twitter is usually more than enough.
