seems like a lot of people ask questions/discuss the language in both :thinking_face:

General is a channel that can’t be removed and will notify everyone. In some slack communities I’ve seen this renamed to `announcements` and ppl are informed it is only to be used to broadcast a message to everyone. Ideally, `general` shouldn’t be used much, because it can be annoying to be receiving notifications everytime someone posts.

we renamed it to announcements in our company too

maybe some [JB] people could sort this out?
