is there any shortcut/tool to make it to what it was without removing the extra bit and using the auto-import again?

menegatti: you can remove the unnecessary part and then just wait until auto-import jumps in.
however, I see that can be tedious if there is a lot of that 🙁

You're in luck, it is fixed in latest EAP (I'm on it, seems very stable) https://github.com/JetBrains/kotlin/blob/master/ChangeLog.md
