i've thought about bootstrapping a new ASL-licensed one since pircbotx is GPL'd and jibbler has basically vanished so can't be persuaded to relicense pircbot itself.

@evanchooly what if we make a clean room impl with coroutines and sockets? Sounds like a good candidate to test some early prototype we have. Protocol is easy as far as I remember.
