Is there a way to update the Android Support Plugjn for Intellij ?

I don't think so. It's been a issue for a while that IntelliJ is lagging behind Android Studio 😕 See https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-252823 for an example (there might be other issues)
