am I the only one where the formatting style rules get reset to the default ones when there is an idea update?

Not sure for me, but as a workaround you can export your settings to a .editorconfig and include it in your repo. (Just in case you didnt know)

I was having problems related to that but after because I moved to ktfmt and I use the IDEA plugin too I don't care a lot.

Well, the author is good and accepts collaborations with open arms, I don't see a problem if the repo is in Facebook or whatever company.

BTW you can fork it, it is based on google java format so it is deterministic and strict
