Somehow my project view shows a bookmark (7) near the file name, but I wasn't able to reproduce it with other bookmarks...

Is it a new feature? Intellij 2020.3.1 build 29 dec

Yes, it’s a feature but an old one. You can do something like ctrl+shift+7 “Toggle bookmark” when focus is in the Project View on the file.

You can also “Toggle bookmark with mnemonic” and choose a letter 😱

@Dmitry Kandalov it doesn't work for me, apart for that specific time... if I put ctrl+shift+7 I can see the bookmark in the favorites panel and I can jump to it, but I cannot see in the project view...

Do you have focus in the project view on the file (instead of the editor)?
